Pros

-Convenient location in mid-town next to Grand Central

Cons

I'll make it short and sweet, as much of what has been said is exactly what takes place @ IQPC. I was told that my last day was the day they asked me to leave. Though my employment @ IQPC was short, I learned more than I expected about how a company shouldn't be run. There is no company identity, instead just dozens of "teams" producing mediocre events. Former attendees of these events rarely return because they share how "underwhelmed" their time was and how over charged they were. After attending an event during the early weeks of training, I see witnessed the lack of quality in the events. There is no transparency in upper management, only numbers. There is no real mission, message or value. The message sent across is numbers matter most, employee happiness last. Not a single person is actually happy on the job, but they do the work and continue to spin the wheel. This is probably why people rarely reach their KPIs/MBOs because they know the payout isn't worth it. These are largely based off of getting people to answer your cold calls in hopes that this will result in a “lead” turned active revenue for the company. Many hours are wasted on LinkedIn outreach, so be prepared to add 500 new contacts, harass them via LinkedIn message just to have them tell you how they will not promote IQPC’s events. The environment is dark, crowded and there is no break room, just a dirty prep kitchen that people go in and out to get their daily FREE IQPC coffee (which is also low budget and tastes like dirt). Overall, my time @ IQPC was short, and for good reason. My manager releasing me of a lousy job, was probably the best thing that happened to me. I know that from here, I can ONLY go up, be treated better and learn transferrable skills from a lean and agile company. Additionally: HR is a single-handed show The benefits package isn’t great Stock options don’t matter

Pros

They have AC. The building is newer. The elevator works most of the time. Starbucks is close. Access to airport and freeway.

Cons

This company provides the lowest salary and threatens employees constantly. Everyone sits in one room in rows close to one another while the "managers" run up and down the rows yelling "Power Hour!!!" "Get on the phone or else!!!" "Why aren't you on the phone !!!" There is zero process or support. They are so ghetto that they don't even have a real CRM. Rob (the owner) is demeaning as is the rest of his henchmen. This company is a joke. Even if you are pacing to your goal you realize how backwards they are here. Here is a concept they need to learn "human capital management ." If you use the bathroom they are all over you. Seriously, who do they think they are?

Pros

Because of their phony interview process (they create hard interviews to build value and make you think you are actually going into a professional environment), this company attracts high quality professionals. With the exception of management, you will get to meet great people and work with great people. I was truly excited to work at IQPC because I believed in the value of their products and have many years of experience successfully selling sponsorship packages. What I encountered was a boiler room with the worse management that I have ever experienced.

Cons

This position is not for anyone who believes in working smart or believes in treating others with dignity and respect and being treated in the same way. The management is terrible. They start the day by having meetings to literally tell everyone how terrible they are. Management thrives on Jack Welch public hangings style. Additionally, they use the F word in meetings and send emails every afternoon continuing the put down. One of the managers is a straight out bully with little or no class stinking of cigarettes and throwing tantrums. His aggressive and unprofessional behavior is a law suit waiting to happen. When sales are down, management looks for scapegoats rather than concentrate on closing deals and helping employees. They fire and hire. This company puts you on salary and expects you to work 12 hour days and weekends out of your home. They don't believe in working smart. They want you to be a mouse on a wheel, constantly making calls reading a script and sending out proposals to anyone who agrees. I felt as they were making me waste my time, as I come from a background of relationship building and sending only proposals that have and extreme high probability of converting to contracts. Their M O is to take 0 responsibility for poor sales performance, even though you are not allowed to close deals, you have to turn phone over to management. I was the only one left of the three that were hired with me. In a meeting alone with management, I dared question them on why they had not closed any of my deals. After that meeting, manager started tactics that were only meant to make me quit. I was determined to stay until after the event to make my commission. Managers would not take my turnover customers calls. Four days after that meeting with management and my proposals still waiting to be closed, I was told that this job was not a good fit for me.
