Due to the longer shifts, you get more days off.

Cons

Everything is terrible about this company. The management is toxic and feeds off of treating people horribly. The fail to train people properly which is a liability for the City of Danbury - just take a look at the news regarding this. They harass people on a daily basis and the director has public mental breakdowns.

Pros

Strong group of public safety professionals. Many employees have been with the company over 10 and 20 years. Really understands public safety technologies and operations. Flexible with employees to support work/life balance needs. Great benefits package. Solid and mature company with long-term growth.

Cons

Not really a con, but as a public safety company with essential workers, work schedules and commitments will reflect those of law enforcement and other first responders.

Pros

They strive to offer a work-life balance which is difficult to find these days. The management team will work with you to better your skills and succeed in your job and career within the company. They also make every effort to promote from within to give their employees an opportunity to move up in the Company. They have a nice 401(k) plan that you can contribute to along with a Company match. Something you won't see in the local government sector are bonuses - and IXP offers bonuses for lots of things and it's nice to know that you are appreciated.

None that I can think of.
