Pros

Imperva makes a great product.

Cons

2 layoffs and several managers in a short period of time says a lot about a company and it's commitment to retention. Management has had almost a 100% turnover in less than an year. New CEO is arrogant and does not mingle with the "little people". Unless you are in the "inner circle" you don't exist. He hires like minded people who are more worried about being the "Cool Kid on the Cool Team" than actually doing anything meaningful. Upper management are rude and often throw temper tantrums when things are not going as expected. Employees are not treated with respect, but rather punching bags for managers. There is a lot of inner fighting amongst teams and goes ignored by management. Makes working together a chore and does not allow for productive or effective results. Imperva was once a great company to work for, but those days are long gone and as long as the current management is in place you will see a revolving door... unless they continue to hire the minions with the "yes man" mentality.

Imperva Response

Imperva has gone through a significant amount of change to transform our business for profitable growth. We recognize that change is not easy. Our goal is and has been to undertake this journey in a manner that builds a culture of transparency, inclusion, collaboration, and communication. We have encouraged and continue to embrace diverse perspectives from our employees to help shape the future of Imperva. For example, we’ve implemented an open and transparent communication system where employees have many opportunities to participate, contribute and provide feedback on all of our key company strategic initiatives and priorities. We hold weekly internal forums and “Open Door” leader chats, and quarterly All Hands – and also issue NPS surveys for all events to ensure we capture valuable inputs and feedback. Through our transformation, we have appointed some new members to our leadership team from varied backgrounds and who bring a diverse set of perspectives. The CEO Staff consists of members from the prior leadership team, some promoted internally, some hired externally with no prior relationship with the CEO, and some externally who have worked with the CEO. As a leadership team, we remain committed to building an open, transparent and inclusive environment for all employees.

Weak Sales Leadership in APJ.

Pros

Used to have a great compensation plan for sales folks. But not anymore after the Thoma Bravo Acquisition

Cons

Sales leaders have no idea what they are selling in the market. None of the sales leaders can hold a decent conversation with the customer selling the vision of the company and the value proposition of the product. Field sales and SEs constantly clean up the mess they make after the "Executive Meetings" with customers. To make things worse, field marketing pays a 3rd party to write LinkedIn posts on behalf of a sales leader that works for the company but has no clue what the article is about. Sales leaders are moved between areas to help their own personal agenda even if it adversely affects the company's interest.

Pros

CEO is changing the company culture to do the right thing and be transparent. He believes he is positively moving the company in the right direction.

Cons

Some of the products developed over the last three years missed the mark for SaaS offering. Imperva R&D can’t pivot quick enough to correct, and nobody in that area listens to the field Reps and SEs. Furthermore, the comp plan has changed to where you need to sell three times more subscription product to make your number. And everybody is told this is life: accept it or get out.
