Pros

We help people find high quality doctors and health care

Cons

We are so busy that it is running us into the ground on top of being micromanaged. This place has become more of an insurance company. It has changed so much just from when I first started from a place that wanted to change the face of healthcare and that actually took amazing care of their employees. They recently jumped too quickly and laid off almost half of our office while telling us the company is stable but they probably made too deep of employee cuts and that they want to invest into something we’ve already been doing that won’t even be expanding.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We continually assess our forecasting and operating plans to ensure we are staffed to meet customer and member demands. As we introduce new products and services, we refine that over time. We value the hard work everyone invests to make our company successful and are grateful that our team keeps our mission and members front and center through the ups and downs of change.

Pros

Good initial wage. Great benefits. Free snacks.

Cons

Serious issues with promoting people just to let them go shortly thereafter. The company is taking on more and more services and just let go so many of their employees on the care team and the employees who are left won’t be able to handle the workload that’s ahead of them. Poor planning. The “culture” doesn’t live up to the hype when management isn’t hired with the right qualifications and there’s no room for growth.

Pros

- Meaningful mission - Smart, capable people - Constant growth, big clients - Particularly good platform team/functionality - the cons listed below are my own, and may well be pros for you. If you’re a genuinely top 1% talent who thrives in a fast-moving, high-pressure environment, you’ll probably love working at IH

Cons

- At some point, “lean and hungry” just becomes starving. There’s too much work that needs to be done to too many products and systems, and far too few people to do it properly. There’s lots of after hours/weekend work and rigorous on-call expectations. It’s a particularly challenging environment for individuals with significant commitments in their personal lives. - It’s an intense, constant-growth environment. It’s not enough to be fantastic at what you do. If you’re not on a growth trajectory year-over-year, you’ll be managed out. - Included Health elevates and rewards transformational leaders who promise the world with confidence and energy. As a result, projects are unrealistically ambitious, chronically overdue and subject to substantial scope cuts late in development. - Between burnout, layoffs, and routinely managing out the bottom 10-15% performing employees, a significant majority of the founding engineering team is no longer with the company. Institutional knowledge is shallow and not particularly valued.

Thanks for your detailed feedback. Things do move quickly around here, but that shouldn't come at the cost of employee well-being. We're so sorry that was your experience. We take this seriously and will share it with leadership. Thanks again.
