Pros

Grand Rounds has done a tremendous job of hiring top talent while scaling quickly. The people are really bright, strong collaborators and very hard working. The company does a good job of providing new and expanded opportunities to high performers.

Cons

The company does not offer competitive salaries, when compared with other well-financed tech and health care organizations in the Bay Area.

Thanks for the feedback! It doesn't get more paramount than the people. Especially with a mission as big and bold as transforming how patients make critical choices around their healthcare. I'm glad you're here to help us reach our goals, and that you are seeing good work get rewarded. Speaking of, have you had a chance to discuss our comp approach with your manager or Team Dev yet? It could potentially be helpful. And/or come chat with me. Additional perspective always welcome.

Pros

Grand Rounds feels like home to all of us. We joined the Grand Rounds mission because we truly believe in what is the best for our patients. The pros include: - Fully stocked kitchens (we have three, two in SF and one in Reno) - Health Insurance - Good life/work balance - Food catered company meetings The culture of Grand Rounds is second to none. Once you come aboard you become something bigger than yourself. You come motivated to come to work and contribute to the future of medicine.

Cons

I wish we could keep all of the interns that come to Grand Rounds. They unfortunately have to go back to school but each of them always leave a void when they leave.

Feedback is a gift, so thank you for taking the time to give it. I'm glad Grand Rounds feels like "home" and the culture (and kitchen inventory) motivate you while working toward what's next in healthcare. I hope many of our interns will make Grand Rounds their permanent work home upon graduating. I'm intrigued by your technical liaison suggestion. Here to discuss further if you like.

Pros

It used enough to be cliché, but in the end it’s true—it’s all about the people. To quote Leslie Knope quoting Teddy Roosevelt: “Far and away the best prize that life has to offer is a chance to work hard at work worth doing.” Best yet, if you get to do it with great people. Let’s face it, in most cases, work is where one spends the majority of their waking hours. T’is a shame not to spend those hours with talented, kind people who aim to do work that matters. At Grand Rounds, I feel I’ve found my team, and the mission I most want to pursue through our collective efforts. Other notable pros: healthy, in-all-directions communication flow; substantive female representation and leadership at all levels; a fast-paced and smart risk-tolerant environment that enables everyday progress.

Cons

As with any company at our stage and pace of growth, role clarity can be a challenge and we can shy away from establishing structure and eliminating confusion for fear it will stymie creativity and entrepreneurialism. We have some great examples of embracing a flexible environment—our SF and Reno collaboration, e.g. I’d like to see more in this area. It can be a key lever as we grow and continue to seek the best, brightest most diverse workforce the market has to offer.

Feedback is a gift, so thank you for taking the time to give it. At the heart of any successful venture is an A+ team (passion, talent, culture), and I couldn't be prouder of the Grand Rounds team and the zeal with which everyone pursues the mission. I'm glad to have you as part of it and hope you will keep bringing helpful suggestions forward. We can do always do better, and re: listening, what's that saying? "We were born with two ears and one mouth for a reason.”
