Pros

You'll learn how much abuse you can take.

Cons

Travel is a lie. If you are a PA office based tech they will refuse to pay you for travel time outside of office hours (if flying) and will purposely book your flights outside of office hours. When confronted the support director will blame sales. Sales will blame support etc. You will have no say over any travel arrangement so if you had any plans on a Sunday cancel them because they will book out of Newark or Philadelphia to save 10 bucks in fare difference or make sure you don't get paid travel time. You do not get a per diem you get a "travel incentive" which is 100 per "night" you are on the road but they define a night as being spent in a hotel. If you fly a red eye home it will not count. The travel incentive is taxed as part of your normal pay but is supposed to be for your food on the road. so what they tell you during the interview you can earn extra cash traveling but you will need to pay for your own food effectively erasing the extra pay. You typically don't get that money for about 2 to 3 weeks after you return from a trip. They will lie and say yeah we have guys travel all over the world. This part is half true, only the most favored techs get to do that and it's based on the support directors feelings about you. Speaking of which your review is based on how he feels you did not by any real metric. And as he enjoys saying "no one scores perfect in anything you as have to leave room to grow" this even applies in attendance even if you are early every day And stay for all ot required. And if you ever don't go along with the wishes of the support director (being force promoted or refusing to travel anymore) he will use one of his other favorite lines "that would be a bad career move" his way of saying do this or take this role or I will fire you.

Pros

If you’re in good with the “in” crowd, then you’re treated really well. Excellent benefits package for FT employees. Money was OK, when they moved to Bethlehem, they needed to raise salaries to make up for the added commute on many. The customers are some of the best people you’ll ever be blessed to have contact with.

Cons

Some policies and procedures were just silly and made no sense. If you weren’t “in” then you were bullied, it was like high school. Upper Management would bring in consultants to see how they could “do better” and then completely ignore any/all suggestions. Anyone wanting to streamline processes was shut down. The concept of “work smarter, not harder” was unheard of.
