Going downhill quickly

Pros

IRE used to be a great place to work. We truly lived our core values and felt the growth opportunities.

Cons

Inside Real Estate has forgotten one of the key factors that makes the organization successful - their employees. Minuscule bonuses and “raises”, slashing benefits, and all while pretending the company is doing better than ever. The lack of loyalty to employees is obvious and honestly really sad for the leagues of people who used to love working here.

It was all great, until it wasn't

Pros

Working at IRE used to be great. The core values were upheld and leadership was transparent and wonderful to work with.

Cons

Everything was great at IRE, until it wasn’t. After the acquisition of BoomTown, it was evident that there was a lack of proper plan in place. It was all sunshine and rainbows turned to doom and gloom in what felt like overnight. I would never advise my worst enemy to work at IRE in its current state. Several aspects of my employment raised concerns including: 1. After a year of service with a flawless CSAT rating, I was transitioned into a new role, labeled as a "promotion," yet it came without a corresponding salary increase or bonus incentive. 2. When this move happened, unlike my colleagues, I was not provided with specific performance goals to achieve. Because of this, I was excluded from the quarterly bonus program, which the rest of the team partook in. 3. Despite assurances, there was no salary adjustment at the commencement of the new year to align with the compensation levels of my colleagues. Furthermore, I was not given a year-end bonus, which I was promised would come in place of the quarterly bonus program. 4. The lack of training plan made job transitions very difficult. It is very much a "figure it out yourself" culture. The company's financial health did not correlate with its inability to offer competitive industry-standard wages. The organization underwent multiple rounds of layoffs, fostering an environment where job security did not exist and employees were treated as replaceable rather than valued contributors. The benefit plans were slashed, raises were laughable, and bonuses not paid...all while leadership claimed the company was doing better than ever. The product's inherent technical issues and poor management of the support team compounded the challenges, making timely completion of tasks a significant obstacle. With no identifiable plan in place within support, it was very difficult to figure out who was responsible for certain tasks. Like I started this review off with, I would advise anyone seeking employment with IRE in its current state to look elsewhere.

Some things never change

Pros

The people on the front lines. My immediate team was amazing, we supported each other when management didn't. I made some long lasting friendships with my work mates. PTO was good.

Cons

*Where to begin? In the years I worked for IRE - there was no consistency in training, promises broken, and constant change in leadership and teams with no notice. *Salary was embarrassingly lower than the national or even state average, and when end of year reviews came around. "Raises" were laughable. When I first started at the company I was told that Salary increases were competitive. Which wasn't the case here. *Management positions were constantly being switched, people were given titles for jobs they had no idea how to do. Nor would take advice from the team they were leading on how to make improvements. Only to later implement said advice and claim it as their own. *Very much on the "reactive and not proactive" mentality - instead of planning for the future, there was always a panic band aid approach at fixing problems. *Once Boomtown was acquired, promises were made on both sides that were not kept. Any merger is going to have it's bumps in the road. However - again - listening to your employees concerns that are in the trenches on the day to day NEEDS to be taken seriously. These people are day in and day out how your clients stay with you - listen to them.
