Pros

I wasn’t discriminated by the company because of my gender. Job was not overly difficult and it was adaptable to work from home. It was gainful employment. All and all, the company is not terrible but not 5 star. I would rate it as average. As with all companies, they provide a service and you as an employee are part of that product/service. Keep that in mind.

Cons

Healthcare benefits were expensive and coverage wasn’t great. Payroll clocking system was convoluted. Be prepared to use a notebook to track everything that you do. Job was not overly difficult or challenging. There was no growth to develop my career.(They do have development programs, but I had to seek that stuff out myself. Management never encouraged me to develop further although I continued to apply internally and take company educational courses.) I never had a performance review. Don’t expect any pay raises when starting out. According management around me, you have to wait several years so you might be stuck at the same wage even if you switch to a different role. Management was pretty hands off. I think I only spoke to my manager about 7-8 times(3 times verbally; the rest of the time in emails/chat) during the course of the project prior to the pandemic. The pandemic has hurt this company all around and that's not their fault. Job security???

Pros

Large company with decent benefits.

Cons

Insight preaches “hunger, heart, and harmony” which is extremely ironic because the entire time I have worked for them has been a quite different experience. First off, I work at the Dayton Oh office which I can guarantee is the lowest paid office in the country. See, Insight acquired the previous company at this location and promised to make things better, and right. They never did. Unfortunately companies like this eat up every bit of profit they can get, and spend as little money as possible on their employees. These Companies that have offices in larger cities obviously pay more, and the smaller offices in places like Ohio, get taken advantage of because they have good people who will work for a lot less money. I mean the pay is so bad, it’s not even competitive. We have customers, partners, and vendors who are shocked at what we get paid because when you talk to people everyday, these things are going to come up. Ever since insight took over the Dayton Oh office in September of 2019, they have done nothing to help make our lives better. They promised better pay and better management. That never happened. In fact, the account executives at the Dayton office are making a $20,000 base pay with 13-18% commission, and fees to do business on top of that! By the time all that takes places you’re left with nothing. This company absolutely does not care about its employees in the Midwest because they know they can take advantage of the location as a whole. The office overhead is low, the employee pay is low, yet we are one of the most profitable offices in the company. What is wrong with this picture? There are never meetings on how to improve or do better as an office. All of our meetings are about shareholder numbers looking bad or vendors who are coming in to do more “trainings”. There is no heart and harmony in this company at all. I mean they don’t even work with people before they let them go. You could have great performance reviews for the past few years and you’ll get booted without warning. Also, as things are opening back up from Covid and people are already struggling to recover, Insight thought it would be helpful to trim some fat and get rid of several more people without warning. Leaving even more people to struggle without jobs. In my experience, the majority of the time when a company constantly preaches about how amazing their culture is and how many amazing programs they offer their employees for health and wealth, they’re usually doing the exact opposite behind closed doors. I can’t think of a more appropriate example than Insight. These tech companies are all fighting tooth and nail to be the best and have no problem kicking people who have worked for them for years, to the curb. The managers and leadership who have stood around and watched this happen for years (even before Insight acquired the company) should be ashamed of themselves. Insight isn’t the first company to try and take advantage of the people at this office, but they’re by far the most ruthless and don’t have a care in the world. Again, something I find extremely ironic with the company values they preach and image they try and maintain.

Thank you for your honest feedback and for your concerns around your position. First, we recommend that you share your concerns with your HR Business Partner as they will be able to provide you with some answers around the concerns that you do have. The values of Hunger, Heart, and Harmony are very important to Insight and we are sorry that you haven't witnessed them in action. They aren't just values that are written on the walls, but rather they are instilled within the teammates that work at Insight. We are experiencing unprecedented times and the health and safety of all Insight employees are a priority.
