Find another HCM Sales Job

Pros

- PEO offering is good. - Company has longevity - Great Co Workers - Great entry job into better paying HCM sales opportunities.

Cons

- Poor management - became extreme micro management the past 6 months - Pay is extremely subpar. Realistically takes 5-10 years of selling 100+ employees per year to have the residual mean anything and the salary isn't enough to carry you if you're in a high cost market. It's the business equivalent of The Hunger Games. - Expense accounts are paltry - $385 for gas, networking/marketing expenses and that's it. Everyone basically uses it for gas because that's all it covers. - There are only 2 solutions they sell and you will be committed to one or the other, so you will be looking for a needle in a stack of needles. It's all or nothing and you may be trying to sell a solution that isn't a true fit for your prospect but it's all you got and you have to hit numbers. - Budgets slashed to the bone - Networking and loyalty events are how these deals get done and those budgets were ground to dust. Be ready to spend your own money or cold call until you're blue in the face. - Most Expensive Offering in the Market - I think it's good to cost a little more than the competition but in most cases you're coming in double and you're only hope is you're the only one in the room or you can find some crazy medical benefits cost savings to compete - Lose clients quickly - Most clients leave within 1-2 years, primarily due to cost. Another issue is service is way over hyped, over promise and under deliver, all out of your control. Finally, another big one is how rigid payroll is in all areas; no expense management, no 1099 support (though this is supposed to be coming), and outdated technology.

Toxic Positivity, Horrible Management, and Tenured Favoritism

Business Outlook

Pros

Generally, fellow coworkers can be kind. About 15-20% of the people I work with are competent, kind, and willing to work.

Cons

Horrible management and serious lack of direction. Most people have gotten where they are due to tenure and not ability. There is severe favoritism for those that are tenured. Politically conservative top leadership will let you know their stance most all-hands meetings. Incredibly toxic positivity rampant in the company (I.e. “Jane stayed up all night to get this done, let’s celebrate Jane!” or the very frequent “We’re a family”). Rampant misogyny, for example, asking female staff to be note takers in meetings that they should be participating in, etc.

Sales Culture

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

Insperity provides comprehensive training programs and a robust benefits package, including various health plans and professional development opportunities. The onboarding process is thorough, equipping new hires with the necessary tools to understand the company's services and expectations.

Cons

The sales environment is characterized by excessive micromanagement. There's an unrealistic expectation to make 100 B2B calls daily, and failure to meet this quota results in mandatory, detailed weekly activity reports. Performance evaluations prioritize call metrics over actual sales achievements, which can be demoralizing. During recruitment, the potential for substantial residual income is heavily emphasized. However, the reality often falls short of these promises, leading to disappointment and frustration among sales staff. Additionally, while Insperity offers a 401(k) plan, there is currently no employer matching contribution, which is a notable drawback for those planning their long-term financial future.
