Pros

The job itself is rewarding. Helping businesses find pros while also helping pros find work during this time is rewarding.

Cons

-Toxic work culture, expected to work all day everyday -People are scared to ask for time off even tho its "unlimited" -Very unorganized -Senior leadership is out of touch -Compensation is often miscalculated, pay is no where no what they promise

Pros

Some of the people I worked with (Aside from Management)

Cons

This company is lost. The newly hired sales VP has no idea what he is doing. He spends most of his time commenting on LinkedIn posts and regurgitating trendy sales trends into new company sales motions. When he is not on LinkedIn he is manipulating metrics to make it seem like he is productive in front of the CEO. Sales management spends more time building slide decks and looking at sales metrics than they provide coaching. They care much more about how they look in front of senior management than they care about the sales reps on the team. Because of this, the turnover within the sales organization is insane. Sales leadership is constantly moving the goal post when it comes to expectations. Which creates a culture where sales reps are constantly struggling and being told contradictions. The culture is awful. Most sales reps are concerned about job security which fosters an environment where everyone is violating the rules of engagement to try and get ahead. Sales management also has clear favoritism where they often overlook violations of ROE because they favor certain reps. They also redistribute accounts and leads to reps they like. It is near impossible to out preform quota expectations unless you play office politics and get on your managers good side. Lastly if the disfunction of the sales organization doesn't steer you away. The company business model only works in adverse employment climates. When unemployment is low businesses don't need Instawork. This creates a difficult sales cycle where only a small minority of account executives hit quota in consecutive months. Less then 10% of sales reps hit quota on a monthly basis.

Pros

Lots of investment in the tech around the sales process. They have all the bells and whistles. Commission structure is enticing. Hybrid work model. Good people to work with as colleagues and in management. The culture of the team is one of growth and having a bit of fun.

Cons

They are STILL learning to build their own sales processes up sustainably. It doesn’t feel like it’s going great. Though my talk track was used for trainings even my success rate was extremely minimal. Though the commission structure is enticing it’s constantly being changed. In eight months it was restructured 3 times. And each was, for myself, woefully unattainable. When my recruiter was unable to provide me with a copy of the commission structure that should have been my first warning sign. The recruiting team has since been completely laid off. As of one month after I started with the company. Even a good team gets burned out and MOST of the people I worked with were exhausted by the sales and lead generation process. You are responsible for sourcing your own leads and the process is time consuming, cumbersome and garners minimal results. Which is due in part to over saturated markets. The burnout means high turnover, be prepared for consistent team restructuring. I’m not a market analyst so I hesitate to talk about the ebbs and flows of the sales markets. However the corporate culture everywhere is one of penny pinching and trimming fat. Instawork is something of a “luxury” for staffing and expensive. Constant firing and layoffs due to performance causes anxiety for employees. The culture for SDRs seems to be turn and burn.
