A very good example of a very bad company

This company had red flags from day 1. Extremely toxic environment which was told to be " normal start up culture". Leadership is non -existent, favoritism is obvious. Management applauds workers who stay up working until 10-11pm, giving them shout outs on slack. Instawork really disappointed when they Furloughed their employees. They charged furloughed employees each over $800 for a conference they had attended months before ( employees were told charges were being taken care of by Instawork). Instawork withheld money from many employees and changed the sales quota month over month to not pay employees their earnings. The company does not stand by any of their values. I am grateful to no longer be working for this company.

Thank you for providing this feedback. Like many companies, COVID-19 affected us and we had to make the hard decision to furlough and part ways with some valued employees. We try to communicate, as much as we can, why and how decisions were made. Based on your feedback, we understand how it feels unfair and that we will do better going forward. Lastly to clarify, the $800 was a mistake made by a conference vendor, which they quickly reversed. Quotas are adjusted to reflect staffing seasonality so that the majority of reps can hit quota. There were some good people working there and you can make good connections

Cons

There is no structure at all in the company. No one knows the answer to your questions or concerns or you have to go through 2-3 people to get things done. Market pricing was inaccurate and breaking into new markets happened too quickly. There's not enough data in the system to execute everything that was happening. Management was always focusing on hiring new people but didn't invest in the current workers. Favoritism was extremely apparent to certain AE's and they received the best leads or gifted commission due to sucking up to upper leadership. I never felt supported and or comfortable speaking on what I needed it was a really difficult time for me. If you were to take any time off because we had unlimited PTO you were frowned upon for using it. Extremely toxic culture and Sales team needs a lot of work.

Hard work in a toxic culture

Pros

Solid business model with decent pay.

Cons

- Some shifty management - don't underestimate this. - Mistreatment of employees - it's normal to witness someone get grilled or ripped off. Lots of favoritism. - Sense of distrust - just look at the recent 5-star ratings solicited from Bangalore to boost their Glassdoor score.
