Pros

Company treats employees with respect. Did not downsize during COVID crisis. Put in an I unbelievable amount of protective measures during COVID crisis including you touch less doors throughout, sneeze guards, etc. AND just six months ago gave all employees stock ownership in the Company. Whoever complains about this company is crazy and is likely a disgruntled prior employee who couldn’t hack it

Cons

Expectations are high and work load is a lot. High productivity is expected for higher than average compensation

Pros

Casual dress code, Half-day Fridays

Cons

The IT Dept at this company is a haphazard patchwork of ancient technologies, driven by poor methodologies and corrupted by the self-interests of entrenched toxic people. They wear a façade of a modern technology company but are anything but. Efforts to pull them out of the change-resistant swamp are a never-ending exercise in futility that will leave you frustrated and feeling dumber for the effort. I’ve never seen so many Tech people suffering from burn-out that manage to just keep plodding on failure after failure in endless projects that wouldn’t know what the letters SDLC meant if you held 6 hour training seminars on it. As an IT professional you will NOT further your career or skills here. You will not find pride in your work. Your passion and enthusiasm will be used against you. You will have your good ideas and designs stolen and given others as projects to ruin. Your attempts to ferret out actual software requirements will be met with blank stares. Your attempts to use Best Practices will be ignored in favor of a “just get it done” attitude. If you are a Junior level, go somewhere else so you won’t have to unlearn the bad habits and poor techniques you will learn here. If you are Senior level and looking for someplace to crawl off and die in your career, this might be the place for you...

Glassdoor does not require an individual who posts to identify themselves but we believe this post is from a disgruntled former employee. IAS takes all comments seriously and we disagree with statements made in this post. IAS is always seeking experienced IT people who will work together as a team to help it build state of the art software tools to help its employees accomplish their work more efficiently and to help its customers more easily access their insurance information. We have built a team of individuals with varying levels of experience and we openly seek to have a collaborative approach to solutions. For individuals who are hard headed and closed minded, they may experience frustration with this open approach to design and architecture. The IT team has many individuals who are knowledgeable and willing to share their knowledge with those eager to learn. Our goal at IAS is to attract and develop strong IT professionals who are willing to learn and be part of a growing team.
