Pros

Two years prior it was a high performing, learning and collaborative culture consisting of smart people who care. The dream opportunity. The pros are that those people are still here to commiserate with the struggles of a slow moving parent company and the unnecessary bureaucracy and getting to have an experience to look back at how things have gone wrong. And the views of the new office are stunning.

Cons

-Lack of investment in current talent that is beating expectations. -Middle management to add unnecessary layers to make a decision and hindering growth opportunities -Ability to affect change -Incompetent internal support structure who rushes to implement tech solutions and loses years of data (thanks, Intapp) -A parent company with a plethora of fluffy titles and lead almost exclusively by out of touch old white males

It is always difficult to hear that a team member has had such a poor experience here. We really focus on fostering a culture of openness and respect and on building a company with long term value and therefore long term career opportunities. When companies integrate, there are always some challenges to overcome, and I think we have an opportunity to work harder to improve our communication across our teams and geographies (which has been made a little more challenging in the COVID-19 environment). I would welcome a direct outreach from you to hear some of your feedback on the changes you think we should be focused on so please reach out to me directly at any time. - Michele

Leadership Overhaul Needed

Pros

Remote work options, good benefits, great mid-level staff

Cons

If you are not a director/senior director or above, you are treated as though you know very little or nothing at all. You are never given the agency to make decisions or completely manage the accounts or projects you are meant to manage. Many “leaders” in director/senior director positions are anything but leaders. Better training and vetting for those roles should be put into effect. The executive level and c-suite leaders are quite problematic as well. Either they are fighting with one another on who should have say on what, or they are showing their teams how out of touch they are by claiming ignorance on how their subordinates are running their teams. Burnout levels have reached a high on certain teams with no end in sight. A separate, but no less important issue is the lack of diversity at the top. Time to cycle in some women and culturally diverse individuals into leadership roles.

Pros

- Nice new office w/ snacks - Great new hire orientation program - Good chance of IPO in the next year - Smart and talented employees - Strong maternity/paternity leave policy

Cons

- Lack of diversity on the executive leadership team - Slow roll out of D&I initiative - Poor representation and response from HR team to protect employee base - Disorganized and slow finance department - Extremely hierarchical and political environment creating many barriers to getting things done or getting approval. - Layoffs, reorgs, budget cuts, low salary increases, weak bonus payouts - Promotions out of necessity, not due to performance - Culture of finger pointing and "not my job" - Unclear roles and responsibilities - Long days filled with back to back meetings

It sounds like you have already left, which is unfortunate since I would have appreciated an opportunity to better understand some of your perceptions. There is no question that we are in growth mode and we are moving as quickly as we can to address our high growth challenges, but we also appreciate this may not be for everyone. We wish you well in your future career endeavors.
