Pros

Excellent products and some really dedicated people! Freedom to learn every aspect of a high level position without the actual title. Always allowed to take on more responsibility and there is always something that can be fixed, just make sure you pick the right thing! Fast paced. Exposure to many aspects of the business.

Cons

Disconnected management gives the impression that they do not care about the people doing the work. Promotions and hiring decisions are too political often controlled by 1 person, minimal internal promotions, sub par benefits, poor communication throughout the company. 20% of the people do the work, the rest spend their time on politics. Employees have too much responsibility and often lack the necessary resources. Unrealistic expectations combined with inconsistent standards result in very poor morale.

Pros

Great folks on a personal level. Even most upper managment. Fun innovative products with amazing stories of life saving events that you feel like you helped out with. People, Product, Process. Freedom to take on as much responsibility as you can, no matter what your position.

Cons

Managerial failures all over. You will not be considered for a promotion. Meetings about meetings to prepare for meetings about future meetings. Finance has no idea what they are doing. Red tape. Red tape. Oh, and more red tape. Meetings to discuss red tape. Getting by red tape in order to call meetings to discuss the red tape you just had to get by. Marketing meetings to determine what color 'red' the red tape will really be this quarter. Financial meetings to figure out the material costs of the red tape. With no follow through on how much we just transfered the red tape for. micromanagement. NO room for movement in this company, unless you are in with someone high up. Freedom to take on as much responsibility as you can, no matter what your position, without compensations.
