Pros

-The leadership is transparent and ambitious but realistic with company goals and expectations. -Healthy work/life is balance is respected here, and the team genuinely cares for each other's well-being physically and mentally. -Your voice is heard here and leadership is always providing constructive criticism for you to perform at your best. -Culture is laid back and the people are truly what makes Intellibright a great company to be apart of. Team lunches are great and we eat REALLY good, leadership are foodies, major pro -Lastly, my favorite thing about working for Intellibright is helping to grow the company and reach our goals, the work environment and people lend itself very well to achieving this.

Cons

We are a growing agency. With that said, we are actively evolving, adapting, innovating and collaborating every day. I know that we will be in a WAY different spot even by the end of the year. This con will eventually into why I stay with Intellibright.

Pros

I felt like I was able to shape the opportunity into gaining the experience I needed and to best serve my clients.

Cons

1. The company touts that its compensation and benefits packages are competitive when they are extremely low for Austin. 2. PTO isn’t separated into buckets, so you’ll have to take from your low bank of two weeks just to run errands during the workday that other companies in the industry will commonly let you use flex time for. Furthermore, I’ve never had a salaried job where tracking my work time was a priority for the manager, as long as the work was done. 3. The pay for creative talent is not sustainable for Austin living. If you try to advocate for pay that honors your skills and the time you put in, you will be guilted for it. Advocating for yourself is usually met with the excuse that “we’re a small team and everyone has to make sacrifices.” 4. I was given health insurance two months after I was told I’d have it when hired. This, like all other concerns, was shrugged off as being because it’s a small company, and because they were “trying to find a better deal.” This is not an excuse. It just means that saving money was put above providing me what was promised. 5. The culture is not progressive, especially for Austin. My manager made disparaging comments and laughed at people who use they/them pronouns when looking at a LinkedIn profile. When I tried to have a conversation about why that’s not okay the subject was abruptly changed. He also said once that he’s had a prejudice against female applicants with long gaps in their employment history due to motherhood, as well as referred to maternity leave as a “vacation” once. I’m unsure if these prejudices have been part of the hiring decisions at Intellibright or not. 6. Expectations of duties are often in flux, which is normal for a small company. However, if you bring up that you need extra time or support to finish a task and do the best work possible, you’ll be made to feel like you aren’t being a team player or working hard enough. 7. You’re critiqued in team meetings for giving either too much detail or not enough, which leaves you confused about what the expectations are and is an ineffective and inappropriate way to give feedback. 8. You are often micromanaged and there seems to be a culture of distrust as to whether or not you’re doing your work, which is odd for the level everyone is at in their careers. It’s unclear what’s trying to be accomplished through this style of management, but it never results in the solutions you need to do the best work for clients.

Intellibright Response

Thank you for the feedback. We’re a young and growing company, so this is helpful in letting us know how we can improve. There were a few items that we’ve since thought about and improved on, from PTO and Flex Time to how work is scoped/assigned. Regarding insurance, we sincerely apologize for the late delivery. We should’ve done a better job with communicating the different dates as we were onboarding benefits partners. The delay did allow us to roll out a great medical/dental/vision plan, which the company covers 100% of premiums (whereas only 50% of premiums were committed to prior). Nevertheless, this doesn’t excuse the late delivery. Regarding pay, we use market data relevant to companies our size as a baseline. We actually beat these compensation data points in many instances and plan to continue growing our staff salaries as the company grows our recurring revenue. Additionally, we also try to align on compensation from the very first recruiting meeting to avoid any misunderstandings about what we’re able to do. There were also a few other points about cultural issues, which we’re taking seriously and will address with the entire team. Overall, Intellibright promotes an open and inclusive workplace and will continue to work towards building diversity on the team. Thanks again for your feedback.

Pros

- a wide spectrum of clients, including an AI and Energy company - a small team who respects my personal goals outside of work - a CEO who encourages us and sets fair expectations - a chance to drive company growth from the front row - weekly friday lunch to get out the office

Cons

- the office overlooks the westlake hills, but can be a long drive (thankfully, the CEO responded with flex hours which has made things much better for us N. ATX folks) - we review our performance based on client ROI, which isn't always reflective of our work... can be a bit tricky but we work hard to make sure our clients are happy
