A job, not a career

Pros

You are left alone for the most part, the only time you will ever hear from anyone from the corporate office is if you are doing something wrong. Pay and benefits above average.

Cons

Turnover at the General Manager level is ludicrous, so much so that they stopped sending out emails informing when someone left because it was so demoralizing. The company has no clear leadership, all major decisions are decided by a trio of 3 people; significantly slowing down the decision making process (two of whom I might add have never held any position in a hotel). They terminate associates (from the top down) more than any other company I have ever worked for, they fire first and ask questions later. I'm a great employee and I still worry after the stories I've seen and heard! Kind of a culture killer!

Pros

Free crappy insurance- woo hoo!!

Cons

Company does not believe in employees. Whoever, speaks first is believed. All others afterwards are not considered. You can be an amazing employee and do great things for the company. All that is ignored if a person that has been with the company longer wants your jobs and complains about you. If you can back-stab and kiss rears, this is the place for you.

Very poor training and poor morale

Pros

Being affiliated with the Marriott hotels allowed you to get discounts on other hotels when you traveled.

Cons

The management in Rogers Arkansas prior to 2011 was not supportive of the employees. Little encouragement, and much criticism. There is new management now in Rogers AR, so hopefully the employees have a better environment.
