Great learning opportunity but the company has a hard time keeping skilled laborers.

Pros

-As a millwright, I have been challenged every step of the way here and have learned more each day. -Interfor puts a lot of effort into giving out company surveys, having the employees review the pros and cons of the survey, and coming up with ways to change the negative. -I've had 3 raises in 2 years, and 1 bonus. -This company has been fair to me for the most part.

Cons

-Seems it has turned into profits before people with all the continuous layoffs. -Way too many members of management walking around with hands in their pockets while most departments are short handed. -The insurance has been getting consistently worse each year. Knowing they will not change plans even through 2015 is reason enough to have to find a job with better insurance. -Safety policy is too strict. Termination after 2 incidents in 2 years is pretty tough considering sawmills are dangerous places to work to begin with. -I've seen over 5 millwrights, 3 truck shop mechanics, 5 electricians, and a few boiler operators leave in under 2 years for various reasons but mostly brought on by stress from management.

Its definitely one of the best paying jobs around.

Cons

They still have some horrible management still in place from Georgia pacific. The only thing employees have on their sides are their locks. It's supervisors and then everyone else here.
