Pros

Ability to work remotely. However, some of MY co-workers always tries to be my boss by checking on me.

Cons

MY boss has no clue about the work and she doesn't care about one of the two responsibilities she has. Management style is very old fashion and they are not open-minded to make a change or even entertain changes. MY co-workers are the worst, closed-minded people I've ever met. They're all not professional and like to throw people under the bus. Management likes to pick favorites. I would not recommend scl health (at least their corporate office) to anyone.

Pros

You get to work in a non profit environment, people are happy and the company has values they follow typically.

Cons

Moving as a front level employee is easy to do, but there gets to a point that there is no longer upward movement unless you are getting groomed for leadership.

Pros

Great pay - great benefits - felt like the IT support work I did really made a positive impact for patients and employees - PTO was very generous and managers allowed me to take over a paid month off after my wife had our first child. If you're good at your job there is a lot of room for upward mobility. Work from home is available in many IT departments.

Cons

Feedback and communication between the many IT departments is lacking. Lots of changes and things happening felt reactionary and not always well tested for QA. I was the last direct hire in my dept, we started hiring through contract tech temp agencies, though most techs were eventually hired on after the end of their contract.
