Pros

Good hard working people at the who want to do the right thing. Overall the benefit packages they offer are competitive.

Cons

They tend to pay less than others in the same industry and market. Also concerned about the future of the company. They are so big they'll always be around, but just don't know if they'll be willing to make some changes to help them move forward.

Pros

The pension plan was generous. Work/life balance and personal life were protected. Lots of nice things were done for the employees, such as summer picnics. Great benefits. Contrary to everyone thinking that non-profit companies don't pay as much of a salary, SelectHealth is up to date with the market.

Cons

People that get in with the company stay there. Because of that co-workers in other departments were difficult to work with and often times would not respond to requests for help in a timely manner that allowed for continuation of your own work. Highly stressful most of the time. The health insurance industry is highly regulated which makes work processes bloated and change almost non-existent.
