Pros

Good pay and benefits. Good staff and pleasant people to work with. Doctors and nurses on same page therefore good communication. Very EASY job. Financially stable institution.

Cons

Low acuity patients. Ratio 3:1 for RN on a medsurg unit. Makes for not a lot of learning or growth. Bored a lot. The saint Joseph location favors the Cysric Fibrosis population de to partnership with National Jewis. They also really care about documenting and will audit for the smallest most ridiculous things-takes away from being with the patient and providing emotional care

Pros

With this company it's Benefits, benefits, benefits. The insurance benefits are amazing, as you would expect. The monthly premiums are very low and the plans offered are comprehensive and extensive. They offer an HSA with a generous annual contribution match. They offer a 401K with a decent match and require a standard vesting period. The PTO and Holiday schedule are also very generous. There are several events per year that can be fun, the employee annual party and Christmas party. Employees from different departments and parts of the company (including IHC) say that it is a good company to work for and most people seem to really enjoy their jobs. If practiced, the stated values are definitely good ones and they strongly encourage a work-life balance. The company as a whole works hard to encourage team spirit and, on the surface at least, are very inclusive.

Cons

The Business Systems Support dept within the IT umbrella limits personal growth. Rumors have it as the department with the highest turnover rate in the company. Advancing your skill set is not encouraged. Keeping your head above water and getting along well with others are key survival skills here. The company values are not much in evidence in this specific department, and of course this can easily lead to demoralization and dissatisfaction. So it depends entirely on which department you are working in and what your manager's personality is here.
