Pros

Strong growth within most departments, the culture is all about the members and providers. The company is in a strong position within its market.

Cons

Do not rock the boat, Do not complain about anything or you will be black listed. They like who they like and will not promote who is different then the norm.

Pros

The high deductible no premium plan and HSA was the best for the money compared to other HDNP plans. Good experience to enhance skill set that greatly benefitted me at my other employer when I left. Colleagues are smart, respectful and work hard at their jobs. Many are extremely loyal to the company.

Cons

Pay is lower on average in the area for people with financial backgrounds and noticed they required you to do a lot more in the role compared to similar job titles. Most people had to get an MBA for promotions in the finance department so it's not good if you don't have one. They value CPAs which is good. The 401k employer match is not vested until 5 years of service with the company. Co workers were great but the supervisors/managers are a hit and miss depending on which one on you reported to. It's a smaller company so word gets around fast who's the rotten egg there while being careful not to speak up. They don't have full cafeteria but there are places close by to go out and eat. Management in the finance department know that they can leave their employees right where they are for a very long time and their loyalty will keep them there. For younger employees it is a good experience for your skill set but there are better opportunities outside of Selecthealth and IHC for promotion and your career growth.

Bad culture

Pros

Growth opportunities.... Often due to turnover. Decent benefits. Many of the teams are full of great people, they are just stuck dealing with a bad company.

Cons

This company is very top heavy with VPs and there is little support and acknowledgement of those who are actually doing the work. Terrible culture of pointing fingers, refusal to take responsibility, and a distrust in one another. The development of system services has created an untrusting environment due to the many initiative failures and lack of understanding/caring of the hospital site needs. The company wastes huge amounts of money on the upper leadership and it is a battle to get additional help for the teams who are in need. And leaders wonder why they have turnover issues....?
