      Good Company Culture, great place to grow

      Pros

      Company values/culture is morphing into a pleasant place to work. There is room for advancement. Communication is getting better within the system but it is taking some time. My managers and colleagues are very supportive.

      Cons

      I am not keen on mandatory PTO (personal time off) around the holidays. I need some freedom when planning my time off. What holiday is a priority to you may not be to me. Benefits are pretty good but I sense there may be more cuts in the future.

      I work at Alta View Hospital, and besides the ungodly hours we work at smaller pay than the rest of the Salt Lake Valley, The OR team is friendly, fun, and work together. This includes the anesthesiologists and most of the surgeons.

      Pros

      Pretty good benefits. Intermountain offers a pension, which is nice. Also, pretty much everyone who works in the Alta View OR is friendly and willing to help or teach. Very welcoming staff. We are also offered time-and-a-half for working overtime.

      Cons

      Small pay. Smaller than the rest of the valley. And even though the OR has many surgeries most days, there is only one shift scheduled, so the staff are also assigned to stay late on certain days, as well as take call. When you are on call, you stay until all the surgeries scheduled or added on are finished, even if that means that you worked from 7AM to 1AM nonstop. And sometimes they will still expect you to show up at 7AM for work the next morning after a shift like that.
