Pros

Pay is good and benefits are good too. Yearly raises/bonuses. Lots of opportunities to find a place to work. They also give the opportunity to help pay for furthering education.

Cons

I feel that Intermountain has changed soooo much in the 4 years that I had worked there. It feels like they're focusing on being a company, rather than focusing on their patient care. With the roll out of EPIC, a lot of my trainings got put on a back burner. Some of the trainings I didn't even get to receive since I had left. They are cracking down on policies like fake nails. No more gel or acrylics. The biggest problem that I had was with management playing favorites with employees. That was more of a clinic issue, rather than a companywide issue.

Pros

work from home, health care benefits are great and less expensive than most. There is a lot of extra benefits as well that only big companies can offer like free yoga classes, mindfulness classes/ practices, monetary rewards for participating in wellness things like cancer screenings, physical activity classes etc.

Cons

It's a major corporation so there is a lot of silly corporate stuff that comes up. paid Holidays come out of your PTO bank so the PTO sounds very generous at about 3 weeks but when you factor in the 7 holidays it's 2 weeks and a week of holidays. not the only company out there that does this, it's common in health care but it's not a fun policy. Every department is wildly different. I have an amazing team but there are other departments that do have not so good managers so it's important to try and get information on your department specifically.
