Pros

-The two units (Float Pool and ICU) I have worked for have had level headed management and willing to work with employees. -Company is found throughout the state so you have lots of options to work within it (can be a con.) -They offer a lot of assistance in terms of EAP and offer many opportunities to increase your pay with extra programs.

Cons

-Healthcare job monopoly. As stated above, they have close to a monopoly here in Utah, so depending in your standing with the company, it can really limit your options. -Some units within are notoriously known to be harsh on scheduling and some employees state they feel like they breathe down their backs. I know one employee whose manager tracks their applications and speaks with the respective unit's hiring/management team to stop their process in it. Again, since IMH is a big company and a monopoly, you can be stuck in one place for a long time. Please be careful and do your research before choosing a unit to work in. Ask the unit's staff if they feel supported before saying yes to that job offer.

Pros

-not a lot of room for career advancement within the administrative side of healthcare -compensation will never be competitive with other industries, however that is to be expected.
