Pros

Healthcare is a strong field and Intermountain Healthcare is a strong and stable organization.

Cons

It takes years for anything to change because there are so many hoops and ladders. I felt like my opinions didn't matter. Overworked and underpaid. Salaries don't even match the market; they are lower. The HR department was hypocritical and didn't follow their own rules. Too much time was wasteid in meetings. People were often hired without the proper training/background/experience/credentials and then fired when they didn't succeed. There was way too much of "hiring our friends" rather than hiring the qualified candidate. It's no surprise to see so many people fail when that is the approach that is being taken. Intermountain spends all of its time preaching their values but don't live them with their own employees.

Pros

-paid time off, we are sometimes allowed to use it. -we get a months schedule usually at least a few weeks in advance. -steady 40 hours a week (the only reason most of us stay here) -co-workers are usually very fun people.

Cons

-they are GREATLY reducing the amount of PTO we can have -we get between a 5 and 20 cent raise every year. Yes, cents. 1.5% increase or less. This is less than inflation. These raises are insulting and demoralizing. -No accountability by bosses or expectations from employees. As long as you show up, that's a job well done. Doesn't matter if you leave multiple hours early as long as you came in. -we get yelled at multiple times a week even if we were are not at all involved with the issue. -most bosses are not qualified for their positions,.and it shows in operations.
