Pros

Intermountain Healthcare has always been an employer that valued it's frontline. It was a company known for it's good will such as their non-profit title suggests. It has been a good place to work during the bad and good times in healthcare.

Cons

The culture is changing and it seems to be changing from the roots up. I hope in time this will be a good thing, but it is not the Intermountain that many of us hired on to or have been loyal to. It is taking on a more national company feel instead of the Christian Utah feel in which we are used to.

Pros

The clinical and clinical support staff are outstanding and the physician group is phenomenal to work with. Educational opportunities are always available, benefits are decent, and the facility/equipment is up to date and clean.

Cons

The schedule requirements are a bit much (every other weekend, two Mondays and two Fridays per month, and every other major holiday). The turnover is insanely high and the remaining staff is relatively green. Pay is horrendous in comparison to cost of living in Denver and is weak when compared to other hospitals in this city. Inner city ER = inner city demographic which can be rough at times.
