Pros

Work-life balance is a priority. No PTO for doctor appointments etc. Work from home is the standard at Select Health and that probably isn't changing.

Cons

You will drown in acronyms and emails that aren't relevant to your job. The pay is not very competitive and combining PTO and sick days makes me feel like I never have enough PTO.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, both positive and constructive. We value all our current and former caregivers’ feedback, as our focus is to continually improve our practices. Intermountain Health provides various resources to share news with our leaders and caregivers, and programmatically, we’ve built deliberate opportunities to collaborate and share feedback. (Examples of this include the 30, 60, 90-day Check-Ins with your manager as part of the new employee onboarding program, re-occurring quarterly meetings, team huddles, and staff meetings.) Additionally, as a healthcare organization, everything we do is rooted in data, from creating treatment plans for patients to making decisions about our business. Our benefits package is no different. Intermountain offers benefits that support caregivers, maintain affordability and sustainability, stay competitive in the market, and create a consistent experience for all caregivers. Our benefits will continue to evolve based on caregiver feedback and market data. We appreciate your review and will share it with our teams as we continue to move forward.

Pros

- Great co workers - Great managers - Above average work life balance

Cons

When I first started working here was during covid. Things were so crazy that I didn't stop and think about benefits and the way nurses are treated and employees overall. Stepping back and working at in a less crazy location. I see that nurses are underpaid, and understaffed here. We get yearly raises, however, our insurance, cafeteria food, and other get a massive increase as well. So the raise cancels out. We are clocked in by the min instead of 15 min increments. We used to be allowed 6 occurrences every 90 days which an occurrence was taken off when 90 days hits. Now its 6 occurrences a year. I feel like this company is going more for profit on employees. We do get rewards, but they made it more diffcult to earn them. We used to be able to earn 50 intermountain live well points towards a 50$ gift card. But now the minimum you need to earn is 100 because they raised the prize dollar amount as well. That way less people can earn them.

Thank you for taking the time to share your review with us. First and foremost, we are sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your experience at Intermountain Health. We appreciate your valuable feedback as it helps us identify the areas we can improve. Our benefits will continue to evolve based on caregiver feedback and market data. Additionally, while the healthcare industry continues to face staffing shortages across the nation, Intermountain is employing innovative solutions to address these shortages, including remote and hybrid work options for select positions where possible, tuition reimbursement/education assistance, paid training programs and apprenticeships, and partnerships with educational institutions and community organizations to develop a pipeline of healthcare talent. Through these avenues, as well as an organizational focus on retention efforts, we’re working to ensure we have the workforce we need to provide high quality care to our patients and communities.
