Most leadership roles are outside India, mainly in the UK and South Africa. Growth opportunities in India are limited. People looking for clear career growth should think carefully before joining. In interviews, you can ask if there has been any recent vertical growth for Mumbai employees. The answer is usually unclear, or you may hear that only a very small number of people (around 2 out of 250) have seen any growth. There is no clear path for vertical growth. During interviews, questions about career growth are not answered clearly. The company talks a lot about “relationships,” but what this really means is not very clear in day-to-day work. Earlier, Investec IGSI was a good place to work, but things have changed after recent management changes in the Mumbai office. Policies keep changing, which creates confusion. The leave policy now follows UK holidays, so there are no holidays for major Indian festivals like Holi, Ganpati, or Dussehra. UK summer holidays in August are not very useful for employees in India.
