Pros

Hired some strong employees, strong brand statement

Cons

Every process at the company is either fundamentally broken or inefficient and the leadership doesn’t want to fix anything. When employees voice problems they are punished. Innovation and diversity of all kinds is discouraged. Every team is understaffed, but the expectations for output are massive. The leadership communicates with company management on strategy and expectations once a year. There is a massive lack of communication problem between teams. There are managers who consistently have high turnover rates on their teams that continue to be employed. High performing employees are laid off without cause. Leadership assumes that all employees have the HHI demographic of their customer and therefore benefits and pay are abysmal. There is no 401K match and no formal maternity leave policy. People are often hired due to their personal relationships at the company and not because they are a good fit for the role. The office is a warehouse that is difficult to heat in winter and cool in summer. It is not properly maintained and is often infested with flies, cockroaches and mice. There is constant construction occurring during business hours inclusive of load noise and debris falling from the ceiling. The ladies bathrooms regularly loses power or has the water shut off, it not properly stocked with toilet paper and no sanitary products are provided. There are no emergency procedures in place including fire drills.

Pros

Great operating hours for a retail store, this is truly the biggest pro. Loyalty points based on your high sales $1000+ as well as collecting customer emails is generous. Discount is ok. Great customer following, kind generous customers make the environment tolerable.

Cons

-Extremely small staff means you often work alone. This also makes it impossible to request time off. Management makes every time off request feel like a giant burden when they sold the position based on "work life balance" and insisted they would be flexible to your needs. -Your experience with this company truly relies on your Store Manager. If you are not the SM it is frowned upon that you reach out to anyone above that pay grade. If your SM does not want to speak up and ask questions, they will not get answered. -Company is extremely fearful of store teams and corporate relationships and frown upon any contact. -There is NO OPEN DOOR POLICY. It is quite the opposite. SM controls everything and has every ounce of support from DM even if they are doing something that is morally wrong. -Culture of kindness only exists when it comes to the SM's happiness, customer service, and corporate interactions when they reach out to your store. -Sales goals are way too high across the board, impossible to meet. If you are unhappy, find another job. There will be no compromise.
