Pros

People on the teams I was on were great but I was luck as this is not always the case. The pay is good compared to other retailers.

Cons

Work life balance...plan on working at least 50 hours a week along with weekends at home and this is expected. The company does not care about its employees you are expendable and know that going in I have seen so many great people that have been with the company 15 or more years let go along with people there 5-8 years. They want to do more with less and over work their people and will do what they can to save a buck. The benefits are average at best. The so called renovation in the building is only happening for the wing where JCP is not located so do not expect anything modern or nice in the wing where JCP sits. Lastly, the CEO and upper management are very good at being politicians and feeding what they want you to hear and tell you the company is profitable...well yes you are profitable when you close over 100 stores, lay off 5000 people. The morale is the way it is here because of them and I truly hope for change in the future or they will go under.

Pros

It was a great place to work but due to large layoffs and talent attrition - culture has taken big hit.

Cons

Work life balance is abysmal. They must offer large signing bonuses to acquire new talent. Management pushes team hard beyond regular expectations. Always giving 200% without any down time. Expect to work late hours and weekends to hit commitments.
