Pros

The 10% discount I guess, though I wouldn't buy clothing there.

Cons

No breaks; young and immature managers and a stuck up group of women who think working at JCP makes them as special as Ghandi. This place is no better than working at a fast food establishment. They hire you based upon a certain availability, but when they schedule outside of that availability without asking you, they get upset and retaliatory when you say you cannot work. Horrible.

Pros

Flexibility. If you are content working part time and need flexible hours this is the job for you. Very friendly working environment.

Cons

no promotions given unless you have an open schedule. They do not pay fairly. You could work there for years doing well at your job and you arent gonna get a raise unless the manager favors you and you demand it.

Pros

Lots of talented, creative people working very hard, trying to make a living and support their families. Great ideas abound, with most people at the specialist to director level giving their best efforts to move the company back into the black. It could have been great.

Cons

Some SVPs & EVPs won't manage, but keep taking the money, backing poor managers whose primary contribution seems to be a near-expert brown-nosing technique. Ego stroking is quickly lapped up, even when reports do very little but take credit for the work performed by their teams. Weird and unacceptable behaviors are tolerated, even protected, and employees who speak up and try to make things better are often marginalized and shown the door. Management should be ashamed, and top leadership likely has no idea things are so bad just a couple of rungs below them on the corporate ladder.
