Pros
Pay is better than many retailers at corporate level. The people are awesome. The learning curve is steep and but you will be better at what you do for it, as long as you are willing to pursue answers and put in the initiative.
Cons
The work/life balance is non-existent. The company is unwilling to build out teams correctly in order to manage workload. All cross-functional teams are overworked and lack support. The company is more concerned about their bottom line than their employees. There is also a huge gap in understanding and expectations from the Director level and above of processes and deliverables and the time needed to complete. Additionally, milestone deliverables/presentation and due dates are not thought through and are constantly falling on days with other major deadlines. Teams are constantly asked multiple times to redo work. CMO is more concerned with aesthetic, than true business driving product. The company is slow to recognize talent and is more concerned with “putting in your time” vs ones abilities and accomplishments proving they are ready for the next step. It is a highly political and old-school work environment.
