Pros

Large, financially stable company. Over 1000 stores nationwide. Clean, safe environment to work.

Cons

Laying off employees when executives receive bonuses. Taking any full time swarm team members and changing their status to part time with a loss of benefits. Over 400 corporate people were layed off in Jan and this includes many with very lengthy service to the company. Positions were done away with so it was not a case of letting go unproductive people. Also, every ASM in staffing levels 3 and 4 were layed off across the company for around 270 people. All of this while giving bonuses to ASM's (to include those being layed off) up to the top executives - whose bonus and salary are posted on the stock page. That is disgusting!

Pros

JCP is overall a great place to work. They have a way of making there employees feel like everybody is one big family. Management always makes you feel like you make a difference in the company and within the store. Also, compared to other supervisor positions at different companys, JCP pay pretty well.

Cons

JCP asks a lot of their supervisors and employees; sometimes too much. It's a challenge but one will worth it. JCP has implemented a lot of different programs that sometimes feel like are un-acheivable. However the programs all have great intentions.
