Pros

Laid back, people are down to earth. The location allows many food options and shopping. Pay is decent compared to other retailers.

Cons

The company lack innovation (forward) thinking and culture. Senior managements lack expertise in their area of responsibility making it very difficult for those who report to them. They also lack the charisma to lead so they harass, bully and micromanage employees to conform but don't expect HR to be on your side. The team responsibilities also lack identity with a hosh podge of additional assignments (tasks that another department didn’t want) that don't relate to the department. In return, no one within the team can fully utilize their real skills and build a stronger foundation for the next stage in their career. 2 years ago, the team was very diverse (Black, Hispanic, Asian and Whites). Now it is almost down to the same one shade with the last minority getting pushed out the door by the beginning of this year. Don't be fooled by their fake kindness. They act like your friend/family but keeps files on every single team member when mistakes happen. Then all of a sudden 6 months to a year later, you get called out on your mistakes. They talk about having an open-door policy and be honest but that's all lies. If you ever voice your honest opinion and it doesn't align with their views, get ready, a case is going to get built to get rid of you. Short deadline because they want things fast, but everything better be perfect! Everyone is expected to produce 300-500 pages of content within a week or less. Everything better be perfect or you’ll have to write a report or sit in a room with them to yell at you on why it wasn’t like a child getting punished. But of course, this step will be overlooked if you are one of their favorites.

Pros

Building somewhat nice, culture is unique to JCP. Nice associates for the most part.

Cons

Lack of good training, due to budget constraints the company is unable to invest into its own business. Everything runs on excel which is not a long term solution. Expect near bankruptcy of the company due to changing retail landscape.
