Pros

The pay is alright. Discount is pretty nice. If you have an emergency or something there is enough management to help cover so that’s cool. All in all it’s a pretty normal big box retail job.

Cons

A lot of the middle management is very inexperienced. High turnover in management as well. They work managers to the bone - not worth the pay. Also JCPenney doesn’t pay there associates as well as other companies. Hard to keep good associates in place.

Pros

Decent pay; really great people to work directly with; decent amenities at the home office; okay benefits

Cons

higher ups do not have a clear vision making the environment hostile; constantly battling to try to do the right thing vs what is thought to be right

Pros

- there are associates that have been there for 50+ years - company was founded on the golden rule

Cons

- company fighting for their very life, so not following the golden rule any longer - eliminating long term higher paid managers for lower paid, a move that may need to be done because of fighting for the company's life but a crappy way to do business
