Pros

Lots to learn if you move yourself around and go for the challenges. Excellent brand name recognition and respect and the products the company produces are valuable to clients. Overall culture is positive. The 'real-world' experience sweet spot is Supervisor to Senior Manager. Below that, you're processing and above that, it becomes more about company specific politics for some and a stopping point for others.

Cons

In regard to research, you won't learn industry standards, you'll learn company standards - these may not transfer to another research company. If you're looking for career growth as a researcher, you'll need research training or credentials from elsewhere.

Pros

It's a great way to become comfortable working with large data bases as running reports is necessary in many businesses. JDPA supports work/life balance and is excellent if you have children in that they are very supportive and flexible. It's great on a resume.

Cons

A lot of politics, very 'young' and if you make one person angry or they don't like you, they will black list you. I have seen it happen to a few people there. Very immature and petty. Growth is hard, everything is by 'grade' and there are a lot of 'low' graded employees and a lot of 'high graded' employees, but few in between. Also, most work is with data and gets old and boring quite quickly.

Pros

Flexible work hours/remote work Great team and training Constant engagement with team and other dept Transparent with change within organization and open to speak out on any questions and concerns.

Cons

Luckily for me, in my region I get to see and interact with colleagues in person. Some may consider remote work as solitary which comes with the territory and region you are in. Tech issues are very common at the beginning requiring a few rounds of communication with designated dept. to get issues resolved.
