Company is grounded on sound business practices with organization wide core values. Great culture and place to see how a well run company looks and feels. These lessons apply not only in business, but in life.

Cons

The industry lacks innovation, youth and drive for change. JK is moving to address these industry specific deficiencies.

Pros

The culture is a great fit for many career types. JK really puts a lot into training and keeping their moving driver fleet and crews. They have managed to keep hourly staff working for 12 months rather than the typical summer season only, that most movers do. Because the household / office / records and relocation divisions working together JK has more career advancement opportunities and less downtime. Great business model !

Cons

If you want to take the winter off work you can't. If you need summer vacation when your own kids are out of school you can't. If you are not willing to grow in yourself and you prefer to work in isolation then JK is not going to be good for you.

JK's Paid Time Off (PTO) policy allows employees to earn paid leave to use at their discretion. Employees get leave approval through their managers to ensure their absence does not disrupt business continuity. Many employees have taken several weeks off for extended trips, such as visiting family overseas, especially during the off-peak winter months. The Nature of the Business

Pros

Although I was absolutely unfamiliar with how complex the moving and relocation process actually was, I've learned a great deal over the past ten years working at JK. I equate it to a house painter. People say..."I can do that myself." Once you see a professional paint your house, you say...wow, it cost a little extra, but boy did I make the right choice to go with a professional. The entire process of moving is like working in real estate, you just don't know what goes on behind the scenes. It take a lot of work and dedication to make every job execute flawlessly. Even if there are hiccups, I enjoy that people at JK always want to make it right!

Cons

JK is a great place to work - the only con - many potential employees could be overlooking the company and the industry as a career option. We need to get more people considering a career in the moving, storage, and relocation services industry!
