Pros

The residents are wonderful. The nursing staff is ALL new. They have had a complete turnover. The nurses have good intentions when starting

Cons

None of this applies to the Jewish Home only to Wolk Manor and the Lodge at Wolk. I still believe that The Jewish Home is one of the best facilities to work and place a loved one. Management is a joke from the new nurse manager to the new director and the vice president of housing. They are immature, unqualified, self absorbed and unprofessional. There is no proper orientation possible because all the staff is new and most of the nurses are inexperienced. Unfortunately, the residents care really suffers because of the management. Nurses and RA'S are over worked and treated terrible. Management worries more about talking about employees personal business than meeting staffing needs or caring for the residents.

Pros

Residents are wonderful, coworkers other than management were terrific. Benefits were wonderful. The cafeteria was nice to, the food was very good.

Cons

Too much red tape and upper management. Too many vice presidents. There is layers and layers of management to the point to where it hinders your work efforts. Probably one of the largest human resource departments I've ever seen. And there's a reason for that, because people are always quitting. Also management likes to verbally make fun of residence. I have been in meetings and actually heard them do that. They get a real kick out of themselves. The employee turnover rate is extremely high. A very stressful and uncomfortable environment to work in and that goes for both the Jewish home and the summit at Brighton.
