Pros

Management is cool and understands customer service. Most people who I work with are pretty cool too.

Cons

Where do I start? A manager complained to the owner that drivers were making more money than he was, so the owner stopped paying drivers DMR (rather than review how poorly he was paying a salaried manager). No hourly employees make more than minimum wage. No free meal for hourly employees. He doesn't offer a "combo" discount for customers (as most JJs do), he charges if a customer wants a cup for water, the list goes on like that. Labor expectations are too low, and they can't staff appropriately for all hours and customer service takes a hit.

Pros

The hourly employees are usually college kids or Musicians with really fun and great personality's, there's always a ton of really fun small talk going on! The customers are generally pretty nice!

Cons

As a company Jimmy Johns isn't all bad, in my time with the company I've met several corporate employees who seemed happy with their Jobs. However, franchisees are given WAY to much freedom. Anyone with some money in the bank can open a Jimmy Johns (and be your boss) despite having little to no relevant experience and if you work for a franchises, you are NOT allowed to go work for another franchises or corporate, which gives them the ability to pay you less than company averages and you can't just leave. Managers are expected to put in insane hours, 80-100 some weeks and can still have their bounces taken away based on nothing but the owner (who gets that money if you don't) doesn't feel like they should give it to you. No health benefits, No vacation day, No personal days, I literally spent a day vomiting in the bathroom and my boss wouldn't let me leave (I'm sure customers would be thrilled to hear that) I was also paid less than ALL of my male counter parts, which I found out my accident one day. No raises offered, I had great employes who had been there for years, still making minimum wage and I wasn't allowed to give them raises, then I was screamed at about increasing employee moral. G.M's literally sleep at their stores some nights because they don't have time to go home and fear they will be reprimanded if something goes wrong and they aren't there. They also are expected to work at least 6 days a week. Starting at 6 every morning. Owners do not allow you to have a personal life if they say jump, and you so much as take a breath before saying "how high" they will make your life a living hell!
