Might Be Good For The Retired Guy

Pros

People are great to work for ..everyone is very nice...training is very thorough. Per hour rate is not bad. Meet lots of interesting people. But.

Cons

No hours. In training your promised 40 and you end up with 20. As a retired guy or gal its the perfect fit. As the somewhat young wage earner you will struggle. You work split shifts. 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening. Good luck paying the rent with that amount. I couldn't do it and neither could the other 20 that I know. You bid on shifts and all of the veterans take them all. You end up at the break table ON CALL most of the day ...but hey you get your 4 it just takes 10 to get it.

Pros

Friendly atmosphere...mostly. Benefits are excellent. Room for advancement if you're willing to maintain the status quo. It is fairly difficult to get fired if you perform minimally and keep your head down.

Cons

Johnson County has a tendency to move around people who can't perform job functions rather than fire them...which means another department has to take them on. There are far too many people in supervisory positions and not enough people doing to actual work.
