Pros

The benefits were good. The salary was decent, but not stellar. The supervisors were kind and compassionate.

Cons

Upper management is not friendly, or grateful for their employees. Raises are few and far between, making salaries fall further and further behind average salaries elsewhere. There is a strong belief that you are *lucky* to work for JoCo and employees just need to be grateful to be employed there.

Many of the staff have worked here for 10 + years, not many job openings

Pros

Middle level management was fantastic. The work was often fast pace. In general my co-workers were great. There are some really good people in the County to work with.

Cons

The director was/is lacking in several key areas of basic management and personal skills. Salaries were importunate to the amount of actual work which was being done. The atmosphere turned toxic when the new director arrived and nobody knew what to do.
