Pros

Coworkers are the best, iPad data, growth opportunities

Cons

Management is terrible. They choose favorites, make promises they can’t keep, and could care less about their staff. Scheduling is really bad, making this job more stressful than it already is. You are overworked and not given options. When you’re sick, you better show up or you’re made feel bad and are in jeopardy of a write up. Plus you get no sick leave. In this field, you’ll get sick multiple times a year. And if you want to use your PTO, you probably don’t have any cause they barely give PTO. MAKE SURE TO READ ALL CONTRACTS BEFORE SIGNING. They will lock you in a pay rate that is less than other places and it’s impossible to get pay raises. (Even though they claim negotiable raises after certain milestones.) JAC used to be the best place to work until certain management were promoted. Now all they care about is money. The quality of services has gone down the toilet and they could care less. Good people leave left to right and the people that are still there need the money and are attached to the kids.

Thank you for your candid feedback. After considering similar critique we have recently moved to a block scheduling system as well as updated our hours of operation. This has helped increase the work/life balance for our team members and decrease any stress around scheduling. To help combat seasonal illnesses in our centers, we just rolled out a vaccination policy for our employees to maintain a safe environment for both our staff and our learners. For awhile now we have combined the sick leave and paid time off (PTO) benefits together to give our team more flexibility on how they use their time off. After our recent reorganization of the company, we are happy to have made pay scales and expectations of roles even more clear. This also allows us to make milestones towards an employee’s growth goals and career pathways within the organization as transparent as possible. We are sorry to hear that you felt that there was stress within your position. We actively try to combat stress and other employee wellness concerns through our ongoing employee Health & Wellness initiatives. Again, thank you for your feedback as we are always open to constructive criticism to help make JAC the best it can be.

Hello, thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback. We are always striving to grow as an organization and employer. Based on recommendations we have received from current and former employees, we are proud to have revamped our schedules into block scheduling to help with work/life balance for our team. As an employer, we have opted to combine paid time off (PTO) and sick leave to give our employees more flexibility on how they would like to use their time off. We hope that being proactive in making these changes benefit the health and wellness of our employees and create an even stronger team moving forward.

Pros

Drinking encouraged at staff meetings Positive feedback from Senior Interventionists while training Kids and parents are extremely grateful. Schedulers are flexible with your availability. BCBA internship program in place, although they pay less than 10% of your total cost. No paper data, everything is done on iPad.

Cons

No feedback given unless you've really messed up and they decide to let you go. Numerous good therapists were let go when they couldn't pass written and verbal evaluations. Scheduling is a hot mess - you will often have to cover sessions for other staff with little to no work experience with their clients. Upper management picks favorites, making it impossible to progress in your role. If you do somehow get selected, SI positions pay only $1 or $2 more. Pay rate for RBT's is low. Unsure about BCBA's. Pay is on the 1st of every month, not biweekly. Programming is confusing and errorless learning creates frustration amongst clients. BCBAs care little about staff due to the high turnover rate.

Hello, thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. Over the last two years we have gone through a full reorganization of the company to create more opportunities for our staff to grow in the field as well as within our organization. During this time we created positions specifically geared toward training which has strengthened our ability to give feedback to team members and provide support. We have recently moved to a block scheduling system that has significantly cut back on session coverage needed throughout the week. We also now pay our employees bi-weekly after receiving feedback similar to yours. We are always striving to be the best we can be for our learners, employees and for the science of Applied Behavior Analysis, so again thank you for your feedback.
