Pros

Lots of Employee Events Owners really care about employees Employee moral is important to the company This is a really great place to work - lots of places don't care about how their employees feel, but KCW really cares. You can tell it's important to them that people want to be there. All the owners are approachable and everyone gets along really well. They have fun events like chili cook-offs and Employee Appreciation Day. If you have kids, they completely understand when you need time off for your family.

Cons

Office hours start at 8:00 so if you have a commute you have to leave your house pretty early

Pros

Flexible time and understanding managers. It took some time to get to that point. You definitely have to earn their trust because a lot of people aren't cut out for this demanding work.

Cons

Not KCW's fault but commuting to/from DC and Baltimore is rough. Lot's of traffic, unpredictable. Recent micromanaging of hours and tasks is a necessary evil. But still an evil though.

Pros

If you really work hard and show an attention to detail, you will be rewarded and made to feel appreciated. Pay is competetive. Do som research on average local pay for a position and it will be reasonably close. Work on a wide array of projects, learn a ton about utility engineering. If you have a little bit of experience and a willingness to learn, you will be trained in specific things you will need to know.

Cons

90 probationary period without benefits. You are expected to perform and held accountable, can be very stressful if you aren't used to it. Job may involve (paid) driving from Baltimore to DC every day. Traffic is bad.
