      Pros

      One month off in the summer.

      Cons

      Employers take the “whatever it takes” attitude too far. You’re expected to be a slave to your school, but the work is not distributed evenly and a lot of administrators sit around all day. You will be judged for taking so sick days (if they are even approved). There are schools with better work life balance out there. Would not recommend.

      - School culture is excellent both for staff and students - Supportive staff/ co-workers - Professional development happens continuously with experts in different content areas - Good starting salary - Lesson plans are written out for you - Materials are bought with school money, not your own

      Cons

      - Long school year - Long hours (5:30 days, 3 times a week) - Sometimes unrealistic expectations placed on teachers
