Pros

The health benefits, time off, vacation, holidays.

Cons

Management miscommunication, if they do not like you, they will find a way to get rid of you. Various roles within one role, make you do more work than usual or than stated in your job description. Funds are not always wisely spent.

Sometimes Effective But In the Wrong Way

Pros

There is an attempt to always have a concept of team and family.

Cons

The team and family can be pretty dysfunctional the majority of the time. So much so that you wonder how anything gets accomplished. Pay is higher than usual but you work more than one full time job.

Pros

-Great work is being done by the teachers to improve student achievement. -Teachers support and help each other improve through KIPP share, feedback and coaching.

Cons

-Poor leadership that hurts their mission (at some, not all schools). -Best practices are not highlighted and distributed among teachers. -Culture that (sometimes) rewards loyalty over ability. -Teachers/School Leaders who are incompetent are allowed to stay instead of being removed.
