*they expect their teachers to "canvas" around the city to recruit families and kids for KIPP. The language surrounding this feels very much like a missionary trip. they wanted teachers to approach families in the parking lots of Aldi and Walmart and talk about changing their kids' lives and futures. Very paternalistic

Toxic leadership Long hours, little pay Passive Aggressive micro-management from certain leaders Extreme micro-management from other leaders Lack of understanding diversity Lack of concern for emotional health of teachers Team building was masked and bandaged with “hot cooked meals” for lunch whenever they noticed stress levels running high amongst teachers. Teachers of color given harder time than teachers who were friends with leadership and apart of majority population. (Example: being 30 secs late to a meeting resulted in an email warning....White counterpart always late in the morning to school was shown getting a hug and a “try not to be late so much” pat) (multiple teachers of color talked of receiving reprimand emails for being 1 minute or less late to meetings...when asked other teachers who were White had not received an email.) At anytime your title can be changed. You can come in a Science teacher with only science experience and they will without notice shift you to being a Math teacher. (Witnessed this happen several times) The list goes on
