Expected to run a unit with one tech and two nurses. Difficult to help each other out when nurses are doing their med passes. Having to be unit secretary and tech could be challenging when the phone kept ringing while in patient rooms. New management at the time kept making changes that weren’t ideal for the unit being short staffed.

I was constantly short-staffed while leadership expected me to juggle a full unit like nothing was wrong. They brushed off concerns about safety, equipment, and even burnout. Breaks were rare and coverage even rarer. It's scary how normalized that level of neglect had become.
