Part Time Faculty for Bagwell College of Education

Pros

You get to help future teachers. You learn about the different school systems and what is going on in the classrooms in different parts of Georgia. The faculty members are helpful despite their busy schedule.

Cons

There is a lot of last minute hiring, change of schedule and empty promises. Part time faculty are not prepared with materials for their classroom in advance. Part time faculty have to rely on previous instructors or faculty members to teach courses. This ultimately leads to students dissatisfaction of the course.

Cons

Salaries not competitive. Increases dependent on State funds not performance. Fixed work at home day(s) not supported by upper mgmt. Advanced Degree does not promote you. Turnaround in I.T. somewhat high. (Been FT ~10yrs)
