Kforce reviews

I was hired on as a contractor for an Intelligence Analyst position and was promoted to a supervisory position which included traveling to train analysts, supervising analysts in their daily duties, submitting reports, working closely with the client, etc. For submitting my first travel pay/mileage submission I had to make four phone calls (they did not return my voicemails) and send two emails over a three week period before I received the paperwork that I needed to submit my mileage. Once I submitted it, they lost it. . . so I had to submit it again. It took almost five additional weeks to receive my travel reimbursement. The same thing happened with my later mileage submissions. When I would call the account manager with questions/concerns about something 95% of the time they wouldn't be in the office and I couldn't reach them and it took about three to four phone calls and voicemails on my part before they would return my calls. All the analysts on the contract were told that we would receive a review after a one year time period. When that time period came around we analysts reminded the account manager of the promise of our reviews and they said that they would give reviews the following month. The following month myself and several other analysts placed calls and emails asking for a review - no phone calls were returned, the emails returned said that we would receive our reviews at a later date. Our reviews never took place. I found the Kforce staff that I worked with to be utterly incompetent and dishonest.

Be careful to review the contract with Kforce before signing it. The client I work for would like to bring me on as a full time employee but the finder fees that Kforce charges (look in your contract) make it very unpractical to do so. Also, ask about your payement terms--weekly, monthly, etc. I was set up for weekly paychecks and have gone up to three weeks without getting a paycheck and there was no advance notice. Once placed with a client, Kforce is hands off and you may never hear from them. They are reluctant to provide computers and software for doing work with a client. Account management is minimal, so don't expect help extending your contract if it is near the end. And don't expect help finding a new contract once one has ended. If they have one that fits your skills, great. If not, they don't appear to do business development to find/create one. They have online training modules that you can take advantage of, including PMI training, but you have to ask for it; they don't offer it up.
