In my opinion...there is a high turn around rate for hourly employees. HR management will play favorites and politics over seeking impartiality. As long as your part of the “circle”, you can get away with; yelling at employees, using subordinates to do “government work”, inappropriate jokes and harassment, etc. If lower management, supervision and hourly employees do a fraction of this, HR will tend to recommend termination.

Knife River is a huge corporation, so if you have the "in" then there are a lot of resources within the company. There are divisions all over the US so theres a lot of opportunities in different places.

Cons

Knife River in UT had no direction. Management was barely there and didn't understand the economy. Many employees were unhappy with the problems. Sexual harassment complaints, derogatory comments, and racial slurs were common in the work place. Underpaid women explicitly.
